Photo StraighTening made easy
May 18, 2006
If you're prone to taking drunken-style crooked photos like I am, there is a very easy way to fix them with Photoshop.
Here is an impressively crooked picture I took in Vancouver.

To straighten this, I will need to find a line that should be straight vertically or horizontally. In this case it's easy because of the ocean. In the Photoshop toolbar, I choose the Measure Tool, which is under the Eyedropper.

Drag the measure tool along a straight line in your image.

Go to Image > Rotate Canvas > Arbitrary. A box will pop up and tell you what angle the line you drew is at. Click okay to rotate the canvas that amount!

It will give you a straight image! Crop the blank space out of your image, and you're done!

This tutorial was done in Adobe Photoshop CS2.
